Amazing tank :smokin: thanks for sharing the timeline pictures they have made my last hour on a Friday afternoon at work far less boring :D

I am planning on switching salts soon. Have you been using Coralife for a long time? And have you been happy with it?

Also, I run 250k's right know with 12k Reeflux on CoralVue ballasts. Will I get the same bang as you with CoralVue ballasts running at 250w? I really want to switch to radium, but I am afraid I may give up growth with only running 250w ballasts.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks again everybody.

I have been using Coralife for about a year and a half or so. It is very consistent from bucket to bucket and it is decent price so yes Im certainly happy with it. I would go with HQI ballasts with the Radiums if you want to get more punch from those bulbs. I run my 400w bulbs on HQI ballasts and it is my #1 choice for both color and growth. You should be just fine with 250 Radiums on HQI ballasts. How deep is your tank and do you keep SPS in the lower half?

Thanks for your prompt reply to my inquiries. My tank depth is 29" and I try to keep the sps from mid-to-upper in the tank because I only have 250w bulbs. If I can not spring for three new HQI ballasts what do you think my next best option is regarding bulb selection from your experience? Right now I am running ReefLux 12k's with 250w CoralVue ballasts. I was think if I do not have the $$$ for all new ballasts and bulbs to go with the new ReefLux 20k's with VHO supplementation. What that get me in the neighborhood of a 20k Radium look?

Many thx again........

The 250W 14.5k Giesemann Megachrome bulb is very nice and has a high PAR. The 250W Aquaconnects have high PAR as well but they are pricey. I'm not an expert on the 250 watters so you should definitely ask some more folks for opinions.

Just awesome! The reason why you have had so much sucess is the 15% H2O changes weekly. That does a ton to keep everything super stable and not allow any bad stuff to build up. I wish I wasn't so busy and lazy.

I wish my tank looked 1/2 as nice as yours. *SIGH*

Are you going to MACNA?

Thanks SERVO! I think the water changes certainly are a big part of it. I have it set up so I can do a 30 gallon water change in about 10 minutes so that makes it easy to keep up with them. Stability is a big key, with alkalinity the most critical for my set up. I know my alk is wandering by just looking at the tank.

As for MACNA, I am a bit on the fence about it so I'm not sure if I am going.
