Here are a few updates of my grow out system. This aquarium is a 100g(72 X 18 X 18) frag tank that is plumbed into my display tank. This progression consist of 3 days (07-07-11, 09-13-11, 12-24-11).

reefbums tanks looks ok if u like huge corals that turn different colors over the years
personally i never had that problem
my corals stay relatively small and stable with a nice shade golden brown but to each thier own

They are 2.5ppm now. I test nitrates about once a month and they have always fluctuated between 1ppm and 2ppm.

Hi Keith, hope all is well. I see your last post was in april of 2011. Snowing here so its a good day to read RC threads. I have read REEFBUM in the past, but was nice to see tank updates. Question, I thought SPS keepers worked to have their NO3's close to 0 as possible. I see yours run 1 to 2.5. From your growth looks like this is not an issue? Your thoughts on this please. My apologies for the lack of updates. Skiing has dominated most of my free time this winter so I haven't spent a lot of time snapping pictures.

The tank is still doing well as it nears it's 5 year anniversary. I had to remove some large colonies and do some re-aquascaping to create more space for flow and I did lose a few colonies due to some Alk swings. I am on the fence at this point about removing all of my colonies and starting again with frags.....that's the really fun part....starting new and watching everything grow. We shall see. Below are shots of the tank from last August and yesterday.

I like to keep my tank a bit "dirty" so my nitrates and phosphates are not at zero. I don't want to starve the corals so I practice high import and export, with large water changes, a lot of feedings to the fish and heavy skimming
