This has been one of the best threads to read. Not sure how I stumbled on it, but I read it from beginning to end. When I noticed the first post was in 2011 I was immediately heartbroke and from there on out it was like reading a novel where you already know the tragic outcome but read to find out how.

Of course if levamisole had consistent results ich would be a thing of the past, to me this just makes sense. I have read through all the stickies and levamisole is not there, so apparently it does not work in a consistent manner and if something does not work in a consistent manner IT DOES NOT WORK. There of course were stories of it working for this and that person, but for those that know statistics the "power" of those anecdotes is nil and the null hypothesis, at least the assumed one had to be the correct hypothesis. In this case the null hypothesis is that any evidence that this medication did work was completely random chance and not cause and effect from the medicine. This should make sense since we already know this medication does not target the intended audience. However, desperate times call for desperate measures and thus emotion is a very strong force, just not a reliable one. Anyway when it comes to reefing I am a neophyte to some that have multiple decades and careers in the field. However, when it comes to talking with people day in and day out about what medically works and what does not, well that is my cup of tea. And when it comes to ich prevention is the key. The best way to prevent is to QT. Is QT mandatory? Well it depends on the question. But bottom line is for a reefer bent on keeping tanks for years with good husbandry and happy fish, it really is the easiest option.

My favorite post was a more recent poster who I would assume read through all of this and non-chalantly asked where they could get some. LOL priceless.
Have a great weekend!!
