G. Smithii life span

As the subject suggests...how long can I expect my newly acquired Smithii to live?? From talking with the previous owner, we guesstimated him to be about 1 to1 1/2 yrs old...he is probably 3" long or a little smaller.

I would like to THANK Bud's Reef for allowing me to give "Marty" a new home! I would also like to thank Bob, an Atlanta Reef Club member, who allowed me take home several (10) frags to get my tank going. Thanks Bob, now my wife wants a 70 gal. (just like yours) for the kitchen, I will bill you for that later!haha

There are no data on longevity in G. smithii. The longest I've kept one was four years and that animal was sexual mature when I caught it. A reasonable guess for life span based on other gonodactylids living in similar habitat would be 5-6 years.
