Anyone with Power have a Generator they can loan. Came up Thursday night knocked out Friday Morning. I have been making do by Shuttling UPS backups between my Mothers house and my own, but will need to go back to work tomorrow and if power is not back on, I don't know how my inhabitants will fare.

Thanks in Advance,
Sean

Get some battery operated air pumps and bubble air in your tank. That is majorly responsible for saving the lives of 700 fish in my basement for 4.5 days! Also good for corals. They will keep the water moving and the air dissolved.

Clark loaned me his generator and power came back on before I could hook it up. I was running a battery backup that lasted for 6 hours at a time running my Tunze 6060 and a powerhead with an airline to put oxygen in the tank. I am picking up a small generator next week just in case we have any other outages until we can get a bigger one that will hook to the house and power the majority of the house.

I tell you no power, a 8 month pregnant wife and a 2 year old running around while trying to save your corals and fish does not make for a good weekend. I definitly do not want to go through that again.

I looked for battery powered pumps Friday afternoon after the storm knocked out our power in IL. Nobody had them in stock by then. I talked with a guy at Petsmart in O'Fallon, IL and he told me they had done an emergency order on them, but they didn't expect them to get in until maybe this past Sat. at the earliest. Then he said I was about the 30th call they'd had already that day looking for them. My tire pump/gravel vac hose setup worked pretty good at making bubbles in the tank from time to time until I got my generator hooked up Friday.

I purchased my battery powered pumps at gateway outfitters in St. Charles. for $10 Bass pro also carries them but they were more like $15. Most sporting good stores carry them with the minnow buckets.

anyplace that sells fishing supplies has them, unless I've been there. I've bought quite a few recently. They are about 5-6 bucks each. Walmart. Get the kind that uses 2 D cells, as the one battery ones run out fast.
