congratulation hop:)
i love the geo product to i have the calc reactor and it's build very strong.

what pump feed that skimmer ?

what pumps are on the skimmer

what pumps are on the skimmer

What pumps did Geo put on the 4' X 8". Also that's a nice skimmer, I would love to see the junk it pulls out, superior contact time!!!!

mavgi: Thanks, I'm feeding the skimmer with a Sedra 700. I traded in the big watt pressure rated pump from the previous beckett skimmer for something in the affordable range:D

Paulairduck: It came with a pair of Gen-X 6000. So far I'm liking it, but it's only been running on the tank for about 13 hours, so the amount of sludge is pretty mild right now.

the genx600 are beast . i run one on my skimmer and i know they going to have new impeller designe i need to get one still wait for the shipping. i check the genx6000 with the flow meter and after the pump run for a while i read between 16/17 l/min.
i testing at this moment the eheim 1260 the reading show 10 l/min
meantime the genx6000 nock off the eheim but i will give it more time to see the skimming result.

you have a great skimmer and geo make a very good product enjoy it.

regards
michael

Ahh. same as mine, just different pumps. The picture made it look a little shorter with a larger diameter tube:)

All I have to say about this skimmer is WOW !

I wish I would have picked one of these up a year ago when I was building the tank.

I see that you like your skimmer, I am seriously considering going with the complete package from GEO

Skimmer, kalk reactor, and calcium reactor after the tank upgrade

!!!

!!!

well you talked me into it :) this completes my upgrades

Yeah... I think I'm headed down that path as well.

Already have the skimmer, the "kalkenstein", and a frag tank on the way. My calcium/alk have been dropping the last couple of weeks, so I've had to go back to doing manual dosing in addition to the kalk. Guess it's time to do that next upgrade...

Well, I'm proud to have joined the GEO club. I've had my new 618 Ca Reactor up and running a week now. It took 3 days to dial in and it's now steady for the last 4. Time to go buy some corals so I can tune it again!

Well the monster has been running for a few days now and I love it!

After getting all the wires cleaned up and things back in it's place I cleaned out the collection cup. here is the skimmer after about 45 minutes.

Here it is at about 17 hours:

And finally after about 25 hours.

This really is a "hidden treasure" skimmer. I'm glad I did my research and then subsequently took a little risk, buying one without ever seeing one in person.

will your Autoshut off collection container work on this needlewheel skimmer?

I guess if I plugged the holes on the skimmer it might... I'm just using it as it looks better than a bucket and should give me a couple more days of collection ability or catch a half gallon if the skimmer goes nuts:)
