Ok so what about this. My milwaukee sms122 ph controller is set at 6.5 due to my schuran media. But when the ph is measured from the effluent above 6.5 it's alarm light goes to blinking. Shouldn't it be just the opposite. It seems that when even though it is blinking alarm the controlled outlet from controller still works. Am I just confused on how it is supposed to work?

I am having trouble also getting my JBJ regulator to stay at a constant bubble rate. Starts out fine then after a min the bubble rate slows to a stop.
Also how much should effluent should I be letting out? I think the instructions said start with 30 bubblepermin and 50 ml/min. How am I supposed to judge ml per min?
This thing is racking my brain.

As far as the brass check valve goes, what will happen when water gets to regulator? What about the ro water in the bubble counter being on the reg side of check valve?

Hello. Geos website is pretty slim. I have seen quite a bit of his work and his products seem to be top knock. Is there any where I can go to see his full line of products?
Any help will be greatly appreciated>

Extinguish - the milwaukee is opposite what you'd expect. Alarm light blinks when everything is ok (pH above set point).

As far as the bubble count, it always takes a little while for the pressure to equalize. Typically, you get a high bubble rate right after any adjustment and then it levels off once the new pressure is equalized.

I'll leave the other questions for the experts.

Here, here or here.

extinguishfire,
If water gets to the regulator it will corrode it. I've never used the brass check valve on mine, but I do need to get one.
Judging ml per minute requires you to measure the amount of effluent you are putting out per minute. I just let it run in a cup for 60 seconds, then I measure the amount with a 5ml syringe from a salifert test kit.

I bought the same controller and found out the same. It works exactly the opposite that we want it to work when hooking it up to Ca reactor. After I bought mine, I called and asked Milwaukee about it. They said that they offer a controller (same model) that has the circuitry tweaked to allow for it to control and the light to come on the opposite way...thus the light comes on when it reaches a low set point, not a high set point. The mod costs and extra $15 or so. I just went ahead and sold mine and got a different brand controller...one that works the way I want it to.

anyone know the watts on the pumps that geo uses on these skimmers ? like the 6000 and the 4100 and the 2400,,,,trying to see what pump i might want on mine ,,thanks

These are the gen-x pumps right? If so, the 2400 is 40w, the 4100 is 70w and I think the 6000 is 120w, maybe 140w.

There is a needlewheel version

the dual 4100's are on the skimmer above

ER skimmers use 4100 and 6000 but change the impellar to pinwheels

does anyone have a picture of the genx impeler,,,do they look like the sedras ,,what is the diferance o the a pin wheel and a needle wheel?

this has probably been answered already early in the thread. . . I'm having difficulties getting the effluent drip rate just perfect using the geo 618 stopcock on the output line. Has anyone mod'ed their setup with a better means to control the driprate out?

thanks

Kevin

No, I've never had a problem with it. What is your target ml per minute you are tring to achive?

I'm just trying to hold my calc/alk. I'm falling like 30-50 ppm per day calcium with a ballanced amoun of alk fall too. I'm either overshooting the amount or undershooting. It's hard to adjust it so it's just right. I have a ph controller holding at 6.35.

I just adjusted the ph down slightly (was closer to 6.4) to see if more potent effluent might help a bit instead of just modifying the driprate
