I just did my setup this last week... I started off with 25 ml per minute effluent 90ish bubbles per minute(kicks on for about a minute then stopps, I'm using a controller)... 7.0 to 6.9 effluent ph. let it run for a day testing my alk every 4 hours or so...

if the level dropped, I adjusted the ph down to 6.9 to 6.8 topped of my alk and calcium to the levels i wanted and tested over the next 24 hours.. they still dropped... so did the same all over again with lowever effluent ph..

I just kept lowering the effluent PH until my alk levels remained constant for 24 hours... i'm now fine tunning things myself but i'm pretty much done, but my ph is set to between 6.60 and 6.65 using an AquaController.

To answer your question using a controller with a high bubble count I would think that the PH should stabalize within 5 to 10 minutes... however it might take a little longer for the effluent alk levels to rise/stabalize... this is just my understanding as i don't claim to be an expert. I'm going through the same things you are. I just started off high and gave everything 24 hours before making adjustments one way or the other.

There is 2 gauge on the regulator.

The working gauge ( right gauge) read approximately around 1.5kg or 25psi. Is this correct? I thought it should be 2 to 3? It started as 2kg initially (8hrs ago)

i just went to order a geo skimmer from .phishybusiness and the skimmers have gone up to 725 ,,why? that was my main reason for getting the geo was price and craftsmanship ,,i think in the past 6 months they have gone up almost 180 bucks ,,does anyone no why ,,at that price i can get a euroreef or a h and s..

My check valves are not working on my kalk reactor. The reactor back siphons water into my auto top off bucket and causes a huge mess. I have the check valve pointing in the right direction, i just think it might be broken.

What do you guys suggest i do.

The price of acrylic has gone up a bunch in the past year. Not sure if that had anything to do with it or not.

Dunno. A ER or H&S would have been $1000-2000 more for me... I'm beyond thrilled with my GEO!

When i talked to Serdar the owner phishybusiness about 3 or 4 weeks ago he told me if i wanted one to hurry up and buy because when he got is next order in there was going to be a price hike
when i ask him why he said because they where rare and hard to get because GEO doesn't make a lot how there is thousands of Euro-reef and some others skimmers out there so that the value of GEO was going up
i told him it wasn't like it was some kind of rare coin or something he said that's not how some people see it

so i had a change of hart and will likely get one of the new 10 inch dual pump Octopus Skimmers when they hit the market in the next couple of weeks

Keep in mind that the GEO name goes further than the Octopus. Look at how many Octopus and PCI skimmers are coming with bum pumps that you have to blow in, to get them re-started. Some of those guys are waiting weeks for a new pump. I had a pump issue with my GEO out of the box and Phishy and GEO worked together to have a replacement pump overnighted! Not sure Octopus is going to give you that.

Customer service is not thought of often by the budget minded, like myself until you need it:)

Just my $0.02, FWIW;)

But hey, if it's true, I have equity in my skimmer:lol:

i am kind of local about 100 miles to a place that sales Octopus skimmers and they said they will replace any parts promptly and i think that problem is with on a pacific pump and they claim it will be fixed with the new release

any way i could likely throw away the pumps and replace them with Eheim pumps and still save some money for what the same spec skimmer in a GEO

don't get me wrong the GEO skimmers are very nice and well built and work very well

i just didn't agree with because them being rare that they needed a price hike i know some will disagree but i don't collect skimmers because they are rare i just need them to remove some fish poop

Can't argue with that logic:D

One reason for the price hike is that he is now using the sedra9000 needlewheel pumps instead of the genx. There are a few other modifications, too, such as a drain (at least on the bigger, two pump model serdar has in the store now). He's also using different valves and fittings, it looks like. I think the smaller , one pump skimmer is taller than they were before, too.

The working gauge on mine is reading exactly 40 psi. and my Tank pressure is reading between 900-1000 psi. BTW My tank is just an aluminium 20 pound tank I picked up at the local airgas.com , but that should only effect volume.

I would squirt some soapy water around the joints and the connection to the tank and make sure you don't have a leak somewhere. Also make sure you have the knob on the tank opened and you jus didn't give it like 1/2 a turn.

Just some thoughts.

I have been using GenX Media and constantly am fighting bubbles
in the reactor. Effects effluent drip eventually. Anyone else have this problem. Have you switched back to ARM? What are the pro's and con's for each media?

Please help.
