Ghellin's 180 build.

Had a good friend (an electrician) stop by today and help me install a separate 20A drop with a GFCI outlet right behind the sump. Now I can split the load between two breakers and never worry about an overload. I will plug one EB8 into each circuit so the apex stays powered if either trips.

I had a dedicated outlet like this installed when I had the COMAS frag tank. It was suggested to me by a member to protect the outlet from splashes and such by using the type of cover used for outdoor patio outlets. They have a cover that swings open for easy access and keeps moisture out. Works on my back yard patio and worked on the tank.

I was just about to suggest the same thing.

Also, any of your OKC reefers thinking at all about these earthquakes we've been having? I happened to be watching my tank yesterday when that 4.3 happened in Guthrie, and I noticed odd ripples on the surface. I'm in SW OKC, so that's a good ways away. Did anyone else notice anything?

I'm on NW expressway and the desk chair I was sitting in, on rollers, moved.
I wondered about peoples tanks who don't have the sturdiest of stands or even support.

Lynn that is a great suggestion I will look for a water resistant cover.

Oh yes I felt the 4.3 very well and ran straight to the tank. It did not really move the water much, but I am glad we went with .125 steel over .0625!

You guys talking about the quake that happened around 11:00 pm.Several people in w.tn felt.Btw I got my stand frame done and will start skinning tomorrow.

No, we are in Oklahoma. Oklahoma is the new earthquake capital of America. We have them way to frequently now.

Sounds like good progress on the stand!

Received my new Fluval SP4 pump last night and all I can say is wow! This thing is big and moves a lot of water! This pump replaces the mag 9.5 that is rated @ 93 watts for 950 GPH. The Fluval moves at least twice the water and is rated @ only 88 watts. I have to also say this pump is very quiet and makes almost no audible noise outside my stand even without doors! I am impressed to say the least!

Pump has a 1" outlet and it feeds into my 1.5" return line to maximize flow.

Verynice! Looks like a well built pump. What size return are you running, and are you terminating in lineloc or anything similar?

Thanks!
This pump feeds a 1.5" wye, that sends two 1" lines back the the tank and the 3rd is a feed to the manifold with four 1/2" feeds. The top of the tank is about 65" and I have no issues with head pressure. The two return lines in the tank each break into two 3/4" Locline outputs.

Doors arrived today!!! Finally ready to finish the stand and canopy. I was able to get the first coat of stain done today.

Awesome! Very professional looking with those doors

Thanks sir! Baby should be here on Saturday so I was hoping to get them hung by Friday night, but the weather forecast shows rain all week so drying times greatly increase. I put a second coat of stain on all the doors last night and I its's still a little tacky this morning. My original plan was to start the polyurethane by Wednesday. We shall see how it goes....

Got a $100 Amazon gift card from work so naturally I had to upgrade something. ATO it is!

Zeit für Veränderungen!

You will like it. I have one, and it's awesome. (except sometimes when I clean out the skimmer and turn it off, they water level will creep up enough to set off the sensor, so I have to turn it off too)

But with that ATO and Mrs. Wages in my top off, my levels are super stable.
