Is that light hung up with airline tubing or speaker wire? and if the latter, is it still hooked up to a speaker?

My best ghetto rig was my planted tank.
It has been long taken down and this is the only picture I could find of it.

Screw in PC lighting on a butchered 10g hood lighting system,
Tin foil reflector (shiny side down of course) molded into place,
Egg crates with wire mesh as a lid and screen.

lombard0, that is a great idea for holding the ricordeas on their rocks. I imagine it could work well for some other soft corals as well.

@dez_2121: Those plastic round thing were made out of a PET bottle (you can refer to the missing parts of my other frag station in the pic below). Flexible thus easy to deal with, and yeah cheap.

@Whitebread: The purpose is to hold the frags while it's trying to attach itself on the LR rubble or reef plugs.

i just ghetto'd a surface skimmer for my friends pond...does that count? and should i post pics of it...i have to tell you it involved a flower pot and a toilet flange....

Here is my ghetto light setup. Its a 250mh mounted in a speaker that I took the front off of. The moon lights are 12v LED that I purchased off of ebay and mounted in the edge trim for vinyl siding and then soldered to a 12v power converter. It's mounted to the speaker with Gorilla Tape. The light hanger is pvc screwed to the side of my stand but it was flexing too much so I put a hook in the ceiling and used nylon string to tie the end up.

A few ghetto projects:

Red dog biscuit pail as a bubble trap

Ca reactor, originally used by another reefer as the second chamber of a 2 chamber reactor. I got it to use for the tubing but them cracked my reactor. Just hooked it up without a recir pump temporarily until I drilled to mount one but since running great as is, haven't bothered.

My T5 supplement lighting, Hagan Glo ballast and endcaps, split a 2 bulb reflector with a Dremel and mounted on either side of my MHs
