GHL Mitras Club

Im in the Club!

I have tried many LED units, this will be my 4th try. Lets see what they can do!

I have it in my office at work, its an Elos 70 (50g)

It used to be a packed SPS tank but now it has half a dozen frags and a few med sized colonies

Found the software confusing at first but starting to get it I think. I have it set to 50-70% max and at 14k almost all day. Will play more soon. Having a real hard time importing someone elses program though. My buttons are greyed out that should say import

Here are a couple of crappy pics, its too blue so will have to keep trying

Thanks for looking

Dwayne

Hey Dwayne, welcome to the club. You need to save the projects I sent you into the same folder that control center saves to, then you can open them. Have fun!

Dwayne, that is a beautiful tank! The Rockwork is soooo nice! Do you have a build thread for the tank?

Thanks everyone.
I think you must be near sighted lol, those pics are BAD

I cleaned it a bit, these are slightly better

Will report back as I see any results. These were taken with a point and shoot. With the large window behind it is really hard to get decent pictures, I have all but given up

Here are some "before" shots, hopefully I will have some much nicer "after" shots to post up in a month or so :)

Here is one build worth following

10 x Mitras (they thought they would need 18!)

Hey guys. Im in the process of building a new 120g. I plan on buying mitras for the system in the next few weeks. Its a standard 48"x24x24. From reading the thread id assume 2 units would be ideal and be more than enough for coverage. My confusion come is when I look at people like rodney's tank, which is beautiful btw. If his tank is 55" and uses 3 units would I need 3 for mine? His tank only 7" longer. The tank will be 100% sps. Im just afraid that having only 2 units will not be able to support sps in the bottom corners. Thanks in advance for any comments.

Tomn, the difference with rodney's tank is that he has his mounted perpendicular to his tank to give better coverage from back to front because his tank is deeper than yours, from back to front.
With your tank, 24 inches in back to front depth is easy for the mitras to cover when they are mounted parallel to your tank. With that configuration, each mitra would be lighting up a 24x24 inch section of your tank- thats more than easy for one mitras
