Giesemann Lighting Club.

Ken,

Did you pull the Powermodule off and go to the Spectra, or the other way around? Impressions?

Jeremy,

The Spectra order from u guys is to replace the powermodule,I personally like MH/T5's combo fixture more than Only T5's,I had AC and chiller installed so no worrie about the heat.

If you have good deal on 24" Spectra for return customer(didn't saw on the PA site),lmk,I may put one on my ELOS 70 too.

Ken

They do make some rather interesting noises when cooling down. My 48" Outer Orbit does the same, more so really.

here is my Neptune Pro 250w 2 t5ho 24w.

whats the kelvins of the mh and how deep is your tank?

was really considering one of these infinity units, would anyone who has one talk me out of buying it? are they as good as they say they are?

You can order them with/without bulbs and ballasts, except for the T5 ballast's which are mounted internal to the hood.

What is the difference between Spectra and Infinity? Is one better than the other? Where is best place to buy them? I have a Elos 160XL and thinking about a 2 250w MH with 4 T5s?

I coudln't pass up a sweet deal for the Giesemann Refflex fixture and got it used from someone. I've experimented with HQI's before (Aquamedic and Odyssea) but was never satisfied with their colour, level of brightness and ballast/fan noise. As a result Ive stuck with t5's. The Giesemann's output is just totally a cut above any MH I've ever had and there is actually zero noise, even though the Reflexx is one of their lowest priced units.

The concern I have with this model is with the internal ballast design and the lack of any fans or cooling vents in the body. As far as you know, is this unit prone to overheating and damage? Heres the link to the model I have. Look at the pic automatically scrolling through on top to see what the body looks like ( note: I understand that the newer Reflexx models do have vents but not this one)

Also whats the difference between this model and the Giesemann Basic HQI. They seem thesame in appearance.

Does anyone know if a Giesemann purchased in Europe would work in the USA? Would they need a new ballast or transformers?

European Giessemann's usually come with magnetic ballasts and are 220/240v 50Hz. In the UK at least we don't have the option of electronic ballasts or ordering without ballasts.
