Gigantea puffy mouth

Hey all,

Have a gigantea I'm treating that is displaying a puffy mouth. What is the cause and is it need for concern?

Part of the symptoms of a sick gig, just continue the treatment with Cipro.

How many days have you been treating it.

Day 1 was the start of treatment. It was actually in my display and was looking great. Changed my bulb and it moved off to the side of the Rock and started getting worse after a couple days. I pulled it and started treatment once I saw the mouth start puffing up. Still extremely sticky tentacles and very responsive to touch.

Thanks! It's. Getting larger each day which is a good sign. Mouth is puffy but not nearly as bad as when I pulled it.

That day one picture look like he is a goner. He had that "pancake" look. He looks much better in the last update. Treat him and hope for the best. Good luck.

Updated pic. Still getting larger by the day. Going to keep the antibiotics going until 12/19 or possibly until Christmas Eve depending on how safe I feel about having it back in the main tank.

How did this guy come out of treatment?

Hey it's actually still in the quarantine. For some reason it got worse again after showing signs of life. This was a week or so ago. Upped the dosage to 500mg a night for a couple nights and it bounced back. Going to treat for another week.
