I have yet to see a post on the seasl forum asking if people want to postpone the Inland meet?

Why is that?

Or ask if they want to go to a PFO meeting..

I think it would be great at anytime .

I think it would have been better to make this a poll that no one could have posted in . Just voted

It seems everytime there is a real decision to be made it gets side tracked by the way someone or everyone takes the way something was written by someone else and the whole thread greats side tracked ..........then a warning .........then locked ......which really doesn't get to the bottom of the original question .

lighten up everyone...if you don't think you're being ridiculous, go to your significant other, tell them that you're having an e-fight on an aquarium chat board with other "fish people"

Well, when you put it like that...

If you wanted only SLASH members, why wasnt this posted on the SLASH webiste. Then you wouldnt have had to listen to posts from us "trouble makers"

Thank you, you beat me to it. I was going to say that any questions regarding SLASH material should be discussed in the SLASH forum. It will keep discussion on track as there will be no outside input.

I'm not blaming anyone here. It's just a lesson learned.

Maybe because this really wasn't an us vs them thing? Maybe because this is good for the reefkeeping community as a whole? That would be my guess but that is only a guess. I would rather see it here so everyone can see it and help with the decision, I just didn't want to see it turn into a griping session like it usually does.

I think this discussion is ridiculous. There are two clubs in town and they are free to schedule activities independently. Pick the activity you want to attend . . . and enjoy it.

"e-fight" . . . now that's funny.

An interesting situation has developed and I'd like some opinions on which way to proceed.

We have an offer from PFO Lighting to come to St. Louis and demonstrate their products and I would really like to have a meeting hosted by PFO. I have yet to see a meeting here with a non-local supplier presenting their products.

My first thought is to go for it. I think that this would be a good meeting and that we could possibly even get another non-local vendor to make it the same day.

My problem is that the only available day that PFO can make it is the 24th of March. This happens to be the same day that SEASL is going to Inland.

I know that many of our members are a member of both clubs and I don't want to have to make anyone choose between clubs. On the other hand, I have to think about SLASH and do what I consider to be best for our club regardless of what another club may be doing on that day.

Opinions from members please.

It personally won't affect me either way but I'd like to give credit where it is due. capncapo, has really made an effort to make a CONSCIOUS effort to accommodate for everyone regardless of if they are a member of either club. I think that says a lot! My hats off to you!

I agree with you there was some effort there, but the reason this got off track had nothing to do with SLASH/SEASL. Salty stated that the Rep for PFO would prefer to do it at a time when she could get the Max amount of People, if twenty people that might be customers are somewhere else then that is less people for her. This will be a Slash meeting, but the Rep is donating something for Raffle, driving from Chicago, and Presenting their equipment. What is wrong with the Board Members talking to the rep and seeing what works best for her. That is not given in to SEASL that is being a good Host. I am sure these reps watch the various boards and what do you think She might be thinking right now reading this thread, and what might she tell other reps she deals with at other companies, and how will that effect how others deal with SLASH.

I don't care personally if these meetings happen on the 24th, I most likely won't be at either Clubs event (My Birthday Weekend). I am not a member of SLASH, and these are my 2 cents.

Out for a while. :wavehand:

Like I said, it personally won't affect me. However, I was stating I appreciate the fact that he was considerate enough to recognize both parts. I'll reiterate. It doesn't matter to me.
If reps are watching this/these boards, I think they should respect the fact that board members go out of there way to make sure all are happy. I'd hope as a rep they would look at the boards here! They're impressive!

BTW- We should invite the people from Springfield.

Wow try to take the high road and look what happens. However, good efforts on the B.O.D. Thanks for thinking of the members.

I'm up for the 24th. I have always wanted to see how they work.
SLASH had a great turn out for the Frag swap had to be 100+ so this should be another great meeting.
