Go Big OR Go Home! Construction of a 1000 gallon System!!

Tint sounds interesting. I have seen really top-notch tanks that have used mirror material too that gives the tank a sense of being much deeper than it really is.

We used tint on a 73 gallon tank that was setup a few years ago and if you look really hard you can see through it. To someone not looking for that though they would never notice it.

The tank room looks good, I need to get over there soon!!!

Nice progress on the fishroom  Might I ask how the air conditioner is being vented out? That door beside it look like an interior door...

It vents to my garage. The door to my fish room goes to the garage also.

Or you can just not buy your wife any shoes. That cash will run any tank on RC!:D

I hear you brother, but the wife sneaks her way to the shoe store.

Now, if I could just find a site that would take my HD as credit and just tell her it was all for home improvement.

I worked a deal with the electric company. I pay a flat fee every month no matter how much electricity I use. Each year the contract will have to be renewed and renegotiated based off of the previous years usage rates. So, I save money in the long run!!

Here are some updated pictures! Also, check out my two new babies!!:D

now i see why you have all thoes outlets. looking good. great progress

Ya, each skimmer will use 4 outlets and then another one for the supply pump.

Bstone,

It looks like you are making some great progress!

Where did you get your rails for the lights? I haven't looked yet, but I will be needing some too.

You will have water in no time now? How about some pictures of your plumbing?

I got the rails from Mainards, they will work out great.. The tank is about half full of water now. It will take till Friday night when the whole system is full of water and I can add the salt. And alot of salt it will be, I figure about 6 - 7 buckets. OUCH! I am doing the pluming as I write this. I have to get it done by the end of the weekend because that is when the water filling the tank will start down into the sumps. I will post pictures later of the plumbing!

bstone,

All i can say is thumbs up to the titan series sumps !

I have one, and it is very easy to work with, holds tons of water + the material is easily drilled and is very durable

:D

Which one of those tanks will be your refugium? Have you considered raising it up high enough so that the drain from the fuge goes straight into your tank?

The tank drains into the 150 gallon Rubbermaid sump, this is where all the equipment will be (Ca reactor, carbon - phos, ozone, kalk, and skimmers). Then the water wil flow into the first titan sump which wil be the frag grow out. Then that water will flow into the next titan sump that is the refugium. From that the water will be pumped out of the refugium to 5 1" sea swirls on top of the tank.

wow, you have really stepped up the pace! where DID you get the square tubs, and how much water do they hold?
