Go Big OR Go Home! Construction of a 1000 gallon System!!

I do not think the Naso's would fight. They are by far the most laid back of all the tangs I have owned. My Vlimangi which is about 4 to 5 times larger than my Blonde Naso doesn't pay any attention to any of the other tangs, same as the Blonde. I planned on adding another Blonde once my new tank is finished as I have noticed that they do tend to pair up and cruise around tanks together.

Here is a close-up of my Vlimangi - You can really see the Blue/Green Color coming out.

This was the best photo I could find of my Blonde. (they really are magnificent in person)

Why not try a male then?

I am not sure how to tell the difference between a male and female Blonde Naso. I would have to figure out which gender mine is, then have the opposite ordered for me. But I def. plan on adding another Blonde.

Check out the photos I posted of mine in that last reply (edited them in.)

I like the naso as well...

Btw , my lfs kept a vlimangi and a naso together, in a 500g display and they got along fine.

Very Cool pictures. I love the Blonde Naso Tang and the Vlamingi Tang. You have a female Naso, they are very easy to tell apart. Here is a picture of a male and female blonde Naso..

Well hopefully my system will be compelete and running so I can track down a male blonde to throw in. You will also love the Naso's personality!!! Very personable.

Watch how fast your Vlimangi grows. I would guess mine more than quadrupled in size since I got him 1 1/2 years ago.

I plan on a few tangs in this tank:

Naso Blonde Tang, Male
Naso Blonde Tang, Female
Yellow Belly Blue Hippo Tang
Vlaminigi Tang
Sohal Tang
Powder Blue Tang
Sailfin (Deslardini) Tang
3 Small Yellow Tangs
3 Small Purple Tangs

I will collect them and put them in my sumps until I have them all. Then I will put them all in my tank at the same time, less chance for a dominate fish claiming the tank while I wait to get the others.

Great list.

Why not try a Clown Tang? or a Dussimeri(aka eye-stripe tang)?

Two reasons, VERY Agressive, and I am really not impressed with there markings/color..

I am looking at a orange shoulder, lavander, and/or an achilles.

I don't think I know what an eye-striped tang is; is it the same as a whitecheek?

sixxer,
I have never seen those before. Have you ever seen one in person, or seen them for sale somewhere?

Sanjay,
I think I have about 400 - 450lbs of rock. Most are very large pieces that weigh a lot!

I saw one at the local public aquarium. Very Nice.

I had one of the LFS's that I bought my Vlimangi, Blonde Naso from that can get them. Apparently the fish wholesalers out in California get them regularly. Capt. Insano here on RC has one I believe.

Here is a photo of Capt. Insano's Eye-Stripe (hope he doesn't mind me posting it.)

Really cool looking.

By the way, have you ever made it to the Indy Coral Club Meetings (INDMAS)? www.indmas.org
We are having a BIG frag swap/raffle/give-away meeting on April 8th @1pm. If you did, or plan too, then you would be welcome to come by and see my system..

Might have to consider that. Would love to see your set-up in person.

You are more then welcome too!

I will also be having an INDMAS meeting at my place in a few months.

And I will be having an open-house when the tank is stocked and stable, so a couple of months!! LOL

I imagine once the tank is stocked and stable you will have quite a large crowd show-up for that meeting.:)
