It's just breathing. It opens its mouth up a bit wider when she nuzzles up against it, but it's not showing any sort of aggression at all. They have been together since last year and I noticed the hosting this year. The clowns actually "protect" the eel from the trigger that's in there and when the female darts out of the video, she's chasing the trigger away. They also bring shrimp to the eel to feed it. We'll have to get video of that.Wow, cool, but trippy.
That 2nd vid w/ eels mouth open, that would make me concerened for clown a bit.
How long together, and does that eel seem like it's just sensing the clown or irritated or claiming dominance?
Does she ever draw blood when you're workign on the tank??
