i jsut bought one online from hawaii for a great price of 150 bucks. he isnt here yet but i was just wondering if the eel would harm my mated pair of ocellaris clowns? they are both full grown but the male is the smaller one of the two as you may know. i hear that golden dwarf eels are reef safe and the seller assured me that it was.

Your clowns won't be touched. No problem what so ever. You will be getting a great eel. Les is the man! Tim

ok great I have a very secure lid on my tank. I already purhased silversides for him. Should I give him an entire silverside or give him small pieces of it?

NICE! Someone linked my thread:cool:

Giambi, mine has been really easy and i got it from Les also. Like others said, just make sure the tank is secure and feed him. Mine loves PEmysis and octopus or shrimp from the store. He didnt eat much at 1st and i had to mush the piece of food on the rock where he would come out but now he attacks the feeding prong!

I wouldnt feed whole silversides. He'll probably be pretty small so i would cut it into manageable peices. When he comes, you'll see the size of his mouth and body so you should be able to guage what he could handle and swallow.

i have been on different forums asking the same questions b4 i buy something. i am just trying to get the most suggestions as possible from different people for the best care.

les lives in hawaii and he catches golden dwarf eels himself in hawaiian waters. you can find les on ebay. right now there are no dwarf eels on ebay for sale but keep checking. les has been the best ebay seller i have ever experienced.

They really are cool as hell! I cant get my wife to look at or listen to anything about the tank but even she LOVES the eel and demands to watch when i feed him. She actually wants me to get another one which i might do.

I can tell you that EVERYONE who comes over to my house goes absolutely nuts over the eel and begs for me to feed it so they can see it come out and eat.

Best thing i've added to my display without a doubt!
