BeAnAnimal; Love when you show true savings, hate what happens when all the Trash BeanAnimal people show up

. I for one am not one of them, I have followed many a tread where yours was the only voice of knowledge.
With that said, I want to state, if $60 is the Average savings, that is going to be a nice yearly addition. Just think what $720 can buy for that tank.
I absolutely love this thread, I am in the planing for a LARGE tank 8x5x3, and had been thinking of using Tubes for a year now, and love the fact that you have been giving monthly sunrise- sunset updates. Sorry to hear about the diced anemone taking out your tank. Hopefully you can recover to the beautiful state you where at before.
When comparing savings, you really need to compare "LIKE YEAR to LIKE YEAR" Average Daily temp, wind ect.. I live in Las Vegas Nevada, and August is always hot. 2 years ago, our AC went out on one of the hottest weeks ( over 117 all 3 days they where in my attic ) However the temp resided the day it went on, and I didn't get to see what going from a 15 year old 13 seer 5 ton unit ( true efficiency around ~7 - 8 seer) to a state of the art, top of the line 21 seer Dual stage , dual scroll compressor, 3 stage air handler unit.( true ~19 seer ). I know that I was averaging $450 a month in the summer with a high of over $600, and my first full bill after the new ac was $180, but I cant say that the AC unit saved me $270. Shortly after the new AC I added about 30R to the attic with blown insulation, and added 2 inches of rigid insulation to the south and west walls. With all that My high is now in the ~$170 range, with an average in the $110. We haven't had a HOT summer since, so that will be the true test, but I know it will be a big savings.
Ok i just ranted like one of those anti's I hate, though I was trying to show the same point BeanAnimal was making.
