Goniopora and Clownfish...Potential Problem?

Hey guys! Im new here and stumbled upon this site while doing some research. Anyway, I have a goniopora that I added two weeks ago. It is doing great and hasn't had any problems so far. The clown I have right now is attempting to host in the goniopora. This wouldnt be a problem except for the fact that the goniopora is closing whenever the clown touches it. I am worried that this will eventually kill the coral and I definitely dont want that. I am going to buy a BTA when I can so that the clown will hopefully host that and leave the goniopora alone. Anyway, let me know what you guys think!!

I am waiting for my LFS to get a bubble tip in, but I am going to put one in. The clown should host it as it did prior to me purchasing it. I also believe that the clown will host it because it has bugged the frog spawn and now the goniopora. It seems to just want something to host. Anyway the clown still bugs the goniopora a little bit, but it is not showing any signs of distress or damage so I think its fine for now

Yes a clown will not be good for a goni. I had a long term alvepora that was almost killed by a occie-and it was never the same after all the hassle.

My clowns did the same thing to my goni so i moved it to the other side of the tank where the clowns dont venture. Goni is fine now. I guess it depends if your tank is big enough for that to work.

It depends a lot on the goni. My friend has had his green goni hosting clowns for several years now and it's doing fine.
