Anyone know a good place to get a green tentacle, purple base Heteractis Magnifica? Ive been doing my research on them and feel i have a good set up to keep one long term.

Thanks

About the only place I ever see really nice ones is iBluewater, but they are EXPENSIVE. I have never ordered anything from them, so cannot say anything one way or the other about reliability, quality, etc. LiveAquaria has them occasionally, but I think you get what you get, rather than being able to specify a certain color. Otherwise, they can be hard to find because most LFS wont bring them in because of the lousy survival rate.

FWIW, in an 80 gallon, you will run into the same problem I am having in my 90 - not enough space, really, as these things grow (if you get past the acclimation stage). Also, be prepared ahead of time with cipro and a HT; chances are you'll need them.

Its a lot darker in color in person my camera cant adjust for the MH's the oral disk is a dark purple and tentacles are green.

My own personal favorite is the dark red/magenta column. Saw somebody here with a yellow tentacle Mag that was pretty cool.

I was just trying to make sure thats what he was wanting. I've had my lfs order 3 mags for me for different tanks and they have all come in that color. Ask your lfs if they can order from sun pets, that where ours gets their livestock. I thought that was the common color. I've been searching for a yellow one like OrionN's for a while now. What other colors do they come in?

Oh man, my lfs can order them almost anytime from there supplier and they come in big and healthy I've never had to treat one of mine upon arrival . And I just payed $60 for it. If your ever in TN pm me and we will have them get you one or Find a lfs that can order from sun pets down there

Talk about nice Magnifica. These two Magnifica I had and lost when I introduced a third Magnifica that was sick

I got them at a LFS here in Corpus Christi
Who is there supplier do you know? All we seam to be able to get here are the green tip purple base. If he can order from another supplier that can get the reds and yellows my lfs could make some money off of me lol. Mags are my favorite type of nems and I have one in all my tanks that are large enough to house it. But that may be because gigs are impossible to get around here

What is the most common color of mags? I thought that the purple and green was the commom color. Are most of them tan like other anemones? Are the reds and yellows even rarer? just curious, id like to have another one.

I have had four. Three had tan tentacles and a base that in a charitable mood id have said light mauve, but in truth more tan. The fourth had a deep purple base and light brown tentacles with whitish tips. Most of the others I have seen at my LFS have been tan.
