Getting ready to order lights for a 40b. I have a lead on 3
55 LEDs Total 120W Maximum Output.
2 Channels Intensity Control
Full Spectrum Including UV
Configurable 8 000K to 20 000K
Max Coverage Area: 28" by 28" ea.
$325 total

Or do I do an ATI 36" 4x39W SunPower T5
$380

Or Ecotech Radion Generation 3
$365

Any help needed. Apex is outta the question right now so manual timers for now btw.

Well from what you are saying I would get the Ecotech Radion Gen 3 only because if it is cheaper then the ATI lights it's a no brainer.

How can you get it for only $365? is that the XR30w?

However, I've had numerous ATI fixtures and when it comes to T5 they make the best and you can grow anything with most ATI fixtures.

Yes it's the xr30. Private sell locally. Would this alone be enough for lps dominate 40B? Maybe an anemone down the road. Monti?

I think 1 XR30w would be fine, you can probably keep SPS as well just because your take is ~36" wide you would prob not want to put SPS on the sides you should be able to grow near anything in that tank under the light.

Would the 3 do the same that I listed in the first post? And then if I get a bigger tank is then still. The biggest I will go is a 90g.

You are going to get much better light spread with the ATI fixture. However obviously you won't have certain features such as ramping, customisation etc.
You'll have to hang the XR30 pretty high to cover the whole tank on a 90g, this is going to affect the amount of PAR you can give your corals, however for LPS you might just about be ok.
It depends what is important to you, you'll grow anything with the T5 fixture. You'll struggle with certain corals using a single XR30 if you go much bigger than a 40g, but this mainly applies to high light demanding SPS, however the XR30 will give you features the ATI light won't.

Well unfortunately due to my want to discover better my opportunity for the xr30 has passed so now it's down to the 120w (x3) set up with no bulb exchange, low power consumption, and $330 fair price to my door with the ability to expand or the 36" ATI fixture. Down to two, I'm making progress here. haha not! ?
