I have a pair of true perks in a 40 gallon breeder with a leopard wrasse, 2 cleaner shrimp and various inverts with only live rocks and some macro algae growing in the tank.

Today I noticed that the larger of the two perks has a small ball on his under belly exactly under the center white stripe on its body, I think this is where its anus is. It resembles a BB from a BB-gun, the size of the BB is only about 1mm in diameter, maybe smaller.

I feed my fish a combination of mysis shrimp, cyclopeze and frozen uncooked cocktail shrimp.

Now what on earth is this BB??? Poop???

This happened to one of mine. Never figured out what it was, but he only survived a couple of more weeks. I was thinking that it might have been some type of internal parasite.

HOPPER -

should i pull him out of my tank?

parasite, that sux!! did it eventually go away, then he kicked it?

No it didn't go away. It might have disminshed a little, I really can't recall as it was over a year ago. None of my other fish, including the other clown never showed any problems. I would just watch him close as I don't know what can be done about any parasite problems. You might want to go to the fish disease forum and see if anyone there would have any input. If it were mine, I wouldn't worry about pulling him out. I would however keep a close eye on him and if the other fish or anything else start to pick on him, I would then take him out and see what happens.
