I used a rubber reducer, used for plumbing, its 3" x 2" ,I inserted the output into the 3 " part of the reducer, and then 2" abs return line to the sump, tightened it up and it was a go with no leaks.
It works like a charm and is easily removed.

i'm officially part of the H&S skimmer club :D

i purchased an A200-2x1260 yesterday from FinsReef yesterday. Brian and everyone at FinsReef are definitely great people and they take their time with all the questions you have.

the H&S will be replacing a euroreef CS12-2 (non-recirculating model). gonna have to wait and see for myself how the H&S does.

now the hard part -- of course the hardest part after getting past hitting "submit order" and realizing the amount spent on equipment for the hobby :D. waiting for the skimmer to arrive :( i feel like a kid impatiently waiting for his b-day or x-mas to come so he can open his gift.

hope i made the right choice. happy reefing!!!

Brian at fins can send you the proper adapter. That way it is all hard plumbed. Most US models already have it some don't. Call and ask him

Dear all~

I have question about AQUA BEE /F2001 pump,
it will very noisy on H+S skimmer?
I developed an interest in the A200-2*F2001
but dread double noisy...

Thanks~

My aqua bee is quiet but I do get an occasional air bubble in it and its makes noise till it clears itself.

I think the air intake sound is louder tahn the motor.

Can you get an Ehiem on an A150 recirc?

From what I have heard fom Brian, the answer is no. The Ehiem is too powerful.

in sump and external is different about sound?

and does some one know the F2001 pump air flow/hr=?

Thanks~:)

Not sure I understand te question about sound, but if you use an air flow meter, you can gauge the air intake on your own. If you want to know how much air it pulls before you buy it, call FinsReef. Eric or Brian can help you.

Hi All,

Can someone help me dial in my A110 properly?

I've had it for months and never produced the skimate that most show here.

The first question I have is... the doc with the skimmer says to adjust the water level to the bottom of the bayonet... is that when the white dots are aligned? Or when the tube is turned 90 deg.

Also, how many GPH should I be seeing at the output.

And finally how high in the riser tube should the bubbles be (lets say right after you clean the tube and cup)?

Thanks for any help in advance

Dom

Dom, I believe the A110 is designed to run around 100-125 gph flow through.
What they are calling the bayonnet is where the riser tube/collection cup twist onto the skimmer body. You will align the dots on the drain tube and turn on your feed pump. Set the feed pump to flow around 100 gph and then turn the wedge pipe to bring the water level to a point around where the skimmer body meets the riser tube. Once that is done turn on the needle wheel pump. From this point monitor the color of the skimmate. If it is too watery you need to open the wedge pipe/drop the water level. This will produce a darker skimmate. If it is too dark and you are getting alot of sludge build up on the riser tube slightly close the wedge pipe/ bring the water level up. I like to see my riser tube turn to a brown color about a 1" or so below the top. I like to suck a cup or so of RO/DI through the air intake tube about once a week to help keep the airway clear.

I've just paid my dues to become a member of the official H&S Skimmer Club. I have a new H&S A250-2x1260 Protein Skimmer on order and it should be here is about a week. I'm adding a 225 gallon to my existing set-up for a total water volume of 435 gallons. This skimmer is rated for up to 700 gallons so it should be perfect!

Paid my dues Monday, got my a150 Wednesday, thanks FinsReef.

Here's after a few minutes,

and a little less than 24 hours later.

Have to say I wasn't expecting this much in the first few days, other skimmers I've had have taken days to break in and start pulling crud. It's on a 156 gallon that was setup in June, very light bioload right now, 4 small fish. I've been waiting for this skimmer since mid-June, have been getting by with no skimmer just weekly water changes. I didn't have any algae problems so I thought my water was in good shape. I was getting tired of waiting and seriously considered going with Euro-reef again. So far I'm glad I waited.

Man, I'm going to pick up my A110-F2000 in about an hour. I can't wait. It'll be replacing the Aqua-C EV-180 I've got now.
