Haddoni?

I had another thread asking this but I can't find it. It came to the conclusion that I indeed had a haddoni but I'm starting to think otherwise. Just because when fully open it is hard/almost impossible to see the mouth like I normally do with haddoni.

It could be a mertensii. Does it have markings -- usually dots that form lines at the base -- on the column?

It does have some dots underneath but not bright red like I see wheen I Google mertins carpet.

Then I agree with others that it's a haddoni. It also looks like its got its foot buried in the sand, also indicative of haddoni.

Sounds good enough for me! I just thought it should be "bald" around the mouth and the mouth be fairly visible. Thanks again for everyones help.

What color would you guys consider this? It was sold to me as a red but doesnt really seem like it to me. I can only see some hint of red on the outermost tentacles.

your photo looks very blue.. it does have some red hue in it.. I would call it purple from this photo but it may be due to lighting

Picture with full spectrum light is needed to tell color. For anemones Red Haddoni is closest to the color red that a nonreefer think. It is more of orange rather than red and with a little brown IMO

Congrats. You have a fully acclimated, happy haddoni. Many pics you see of haddoni, they are not as happy as yours. IME, when both haddoni and gigs are really happy, and truly acclimated, you won't see their mouths. Most you see pics of, they are not in their prime. Healthy yes, just not in their prime. Yours appears to be in it's prime. Nice job.
