Halide Q & A

Jack, I'm considering that reflector and a good bulb combination as we speak. It's a tough call!
Thanks buddy
Corey

I actually have 2 that I loaned a buddy a few yrs back to grow veggies here in the winter. A way he could start them early and keep them in later if needed. I might see if he still needs them both?? I think. It was the large on like 22/22/9 or something. Which one is that?
Corey

That is the large one. If he doesn't need them and you want to sell the other one, let me know.

Hey guys,
I am planning a 270 (72" 36" 24") tank but before I build it i would like to here what you guys would do for lighting. I plan on having a mixed tank with no canopy or fixture. Any input would be appreciated.

The fun part will be finding a reflector that will cover the 36". Are you considering pendants? I see you said no canopy or fixture.

Yes. I'm looking at pendants. I had someone suggest three MH 250w with 2 vho 72" actinics for some deeper blue color. Would this work and do you have any other sugfestions? I know the 36 inches are difficult to cover fully.

What was suggested is a winning combination. Hamilton may have a fixture that will cover the 36" fairly well but I can't remember which one.

If someone could point me in the direction of a awesome MH fixture and offer some advice that would be Grand! I have only ever used t5's and reefbrite Leds, and am planning a 240 square sps dominated reef. Will have some softies.

I really like the look of this guys tank and his lighting is awesome. So any advice on a pfo hood and where I could get a good one? What type of ballasts would work with 20k radiums. would 2 bulbs be enough or should I do 4 as in the tank pictured. Also I wanna add either t5 or vho but dont know the difference in them really. and 4 reefbrites attached to the hood. Thanks for any help.
