Hello, for an 18" deep tank (48" long and 18" wide) would the 175 watt with a Bali sun reflector be ok? Or should I stick with a 150 watt Cayman sun reflector. I was looking at the new video on metal halides but couldn't find any info on the Bali sun in that video. There will be no t5 supplements. I was also looking at the Bimini fixture but it looked like it would be too much of a focused light. Also I was surprised at how focused the light on the Cayman sun was. I was thinking that a 175watt in a Bali suncwould put out a more even spread than the 150 in a Cayman sun so the par might similar in both fixtures Any experience or comments?

Has anyone ran a XM10k on an m80 ballast? I currently am running 20k Radiums on a M80 Ballast and am thinking about swapping. Also I just ordered 2 retrofit kits to replace a really old set I was running. I ordered these http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/t5-ho-miro-4-retrofit-kit-let-lighting.html

I think I would be willing to try the Hamilton 10K if I were in the market. I know I've been pleased with their 14K.

Now I light my tank only metal halide lamps XM 15000K and I like the light. But I'm still in doubt. I read that for the manifestation of all the ATP-coral colors you want to add T5 lamps. But I can not figure out how to arrange them with Lumenbright. Firstly LB bit large for my tank, secondly T5 must have much lower and they will overlap the light from the LBs. In addition, the framework will have to do, and I do not like such a cumbersome structure of the tank. I need advice what to do...
PS: By the way, I have Lumatek ballasts and I did not like how Radium bulbs lights with them. Even in the "Super Lumen" mode I don't see any difference. With magnetic ballasts Vossloh Schwabe the light is much better!

I've looked everywhere for the XM 10K with no luck. I think I am going to try the Hamilton 10K or 14K in about a month. I will post my results then.

That would be great. I gave up looking and am now deciding between the Hamilton 10K vs the 10K Ushio.

Do you have T5 supplements? I am considering 10k for growth also and using 4 blue+ so it won't look too yellow.

I'm going to go with two reefbrite XHOs for actinic supplements I think. My biggest concern is that I'll be using a lumenmax elite reflector inside of a "floating/hanging" canopy. The thing has to be mounted so high above the tank that I'm worried the actinics won't be effective that far away from the water.

I have a standard 150 and was running 2 Hamilton cayman suns 400w de hqi with 20k bulbs and it penitrated great could grow anything I switched to the ap700 kessil s mainly because I had 2 braces and had shadows if anyone needs some halides I just changed bulbs a week ago
