Hanna Alk reagent

I'm still waiting on my replacement! :(

Still havent' received my replacements!

Still waiting for my replacement....

Still waiting on replacement reagent. Put in January 30th.

I applied 1/29. Still waiting too. How long has everyone had to wait?

I applied 1/27 for one bottle. Haven't heard/seen anything yet.

am i sensing a pattern here? LOL

i don't remember when i applied for my replacement but it's been quite a while. i got this e-mail on january 29...

"Thank you for submitting your request for a replacement reagent. Your new HI755-26
Alkalinity Checker reagent will be shipping soon."

their idea of "soon" and mine don't quite jive! a couple of days after i got that ^, i got an e-mail telling me to apply for my replacement. i called, told them i already did, and was told that they are 3 weeks behind with shipping out replacements. not sure the right hand knows what the left hand is doing.

They are probably back filling the replacements while maintaining production levels for sales. That means they would have to produce over capacity to back fill. Happy they are replacing it at no cost. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we'll get our replacements.

I finally got so frustrated waiting for the replacement that I ordered one of the new HI 772 kits and one extra bottle of reagent. They offered a slight discount for the trouble and also offered a 5% discount on any new purchases. They shipped it on Monday and I got it yesterday.

Still be waiting on my warranty replacements....

Sincerely,

David

And it passed too.

Mine finally arrived today!
I never got a ship notice, unless it went to junk mail.
I had only entered the info from one bottle but my receipt showed three bottles ordered back in septemeber so they sent me three new ones.

Glad these are showing up for everyone else now.

Obviously a frustrating situation, but I'm happy with Hannah handled it. I got two bottles of mine replaced with nothing more than an email and a picture of the bottles.

I got my reagents today. I did some testing.

New Hanna reagent.......9.1

Bad Hanna reagent........9.2

Salifert........................9.6

Salifert vs. Control...........7.2 with control of 6.7

So it looks like my bad reagent is still good. I suspect Hanna was overly cautious and that some of the recalled reagents are ok. (mine was stored up right after it was opened).

so are you concluding from these tests that the salifert test is reading a bit high and the hanna is closer to being accurate??

No way to know for sure but with Saliferts own control it has always read about 0.5 dKh higher than the control. If I read it when the solution turns purple instead of pink it reads just about the same as the Hanna. There wasn't enough control solution to run it again to see if reading at the purple color matched the control. I really should have paid more attention as that's really what the control solution is for.....teaching you the true endpoint of the titration.

I was just surprised that my "bad" reagent was still good. I did store it up right from the time I first opened it.

I received my replacement, took almost 4 weeks. I ran a few tests and the Recall regent tests 8.7 new regent tests 8.7
IMO, I think that it is safe to say that Hanna was being cautious with the recall considering that I had stored mine on its side with no ill effects.

Well some people had some very bad results from the bad reagents. Probably has to do with a lot of factors. Better to fix the problem than ignore it. Right VW???

They finally came and seem to be accurate. I am still trying reverse engineering on them, so this ridiculous retial price can be crushed:bounce2:
