Has anyone read these books?

1) Captive Marine Aquarium: Special Edition

2) (2008 Version) The Conscientious Marine Aquarist: A Commonsense Handbook for Successful Saltwater Hobbyists

Just wonder if they are worth purchasing since I have a Barnes and Noble gift card.

I have #2 in my library as well as the previuos version. I really like Bob Fenner, the author's simple down to earth approach. It one of the books I recommend to new aquarists or to people looking to get into the saltwater hobby.

I agree 110% with Bowman.

Bob Fenner's book is a must have for ANY starting in this hobby. Not only is the book really well written and simple to understand, is really promotes responsible reef keeping.

In addition, Bob Fenner is an outstanding guy. I have met him and traded emails with him many times when starting up. He is always willing to help out if you have a question. He is a down-to-earth (or sea) guy who really knows his stuff.

Did not know a new edition was out. Gonna have to pick it up.

Don't know about #1, sorry.

Who is the author?

I love Fenner's book, well worth the coin. I have an older version BTW. I wonder how much up-dating has been done??

I will have to go look for Shang's book, can't pass up a good read

I think it would be a good read for anyone.
I reread this thread and my above post was referring to Bob Fenner's book. I have not read #1 Captive Marine Aquarium. Sorry
