Got Reef?
Hello everyone. I checked my email a couple minutes ago and got an in-stock notification from LA. Turns out it was for a Blue Star Leopards Wrasse. Ive been waiting for that notification forever. The wait did help though. I had plenty of time to do my research. So without hesitation I ordered one. The bad thing was I just got home from That Fish Place(spent like $100 there). Im very excited. I will let everyone know how it goes.

I cant wait to see this baby swimming around.

Pets Inc alway has Leopard Wrasses in stock. Right now we have 3, all doing very well. You got ripped off paying 100 for that fish. 60 ducks at Pets Inc. but you dont need to live in Arizona.

Awesome fish but they don't ship well. I've had short term success but long-term is tough.

NealNano, you should re-read his post...

Let the guy be exhited about his new fish don't tell him he got ripped off, maybe it was worth 100 bucks to him.........Doofy.

Na I went to a LFS prior to getting the fish and spent $100 on misc stuff I needed for my tank. I then came home and seen the wrasse was available online. So I spent another 70$ total with shipping. The fish was only $35. I know it will be tough but I had to.

looks like an african leopord wrasse ( sells for 40 where i work compared to common leopord that sells for 10)

no wonder no one except ppl in fl know what i mean when i say african leapord.. your all calling them somthing else O_O

but they are VERY hard to get.. iv had offers up to 200 bucks for the one in the display tank at work

Correct A.T.T.R. I think Blue Star sounds better than African though. Ive seen the common ones all over but havent seen the blue ones for a while.

That's a male.

I have a female leopard wrasse! I really hope to one day get a male for it!! The males look nicer IMO

If the fish you get is healthy it will forage all day long - non stop swimming around and picking at rocks.

Mine also eats Nori (or little bugs on the Nori), flakes, mysis.

There's a local LFS here in S. FL that regularly gets African fish. They kept advertising that they had a "Divided wrasse" in stock. It took me a while to realize this is what they were referring to. So there's another name for it!

Nice going! I have one myself and love em. I was told its an Ornate Leopard Wrasse. Very active and peaceful as well. Enjoy

Its too bad not enough shippers add an adequate amount of sand to the bags before transporting them. Having the sand greatly diminishes the damage to the mouth of these fish as they relentlessly rub against the bag with-out it.

I would see if you can get LA to put sand in the bag to increase your chances of getting a healthy fish that is going to feed right away.

I was planning on getting one of those for my next fish and maybe my last for this tank. I have a 46 gallon with a 1" true perc. The leopard wrasses have stunning colors!!!!

GuOD actually it is a different type of leopard wrasse altogether. The one I bought is only found in Africa. This is what the male looks like of your species.
