Healthy frag, STN'd at base

Hey guys, sO i have a beautiful Skyparade Horrida frag. Not sure if thats its actual name or just another common name but either way, I got it with an STN at the base. Since then the STN has stopped and is growing nicely. My question is...since the coral doesn't grow down wards, should I just clip it and re-glue to a rock? I'm afraid when it grows into a larger colony it will have minimal support (encrusted part has stn'd).

That's hard to say, I have had corals that STN'd at the base and stopped and eventually grew back towards the base. However if it looks like it's continuing to STN then you need to salvage it and cut the bad away and reglue.

However, if you want to be on the safe side then cut it and reglue it.

I would clip it right away to stop STN from spreading but since you didn't and frag is doing well I would wait for now. If it shows good signs of grow it will eventually grow over STN part. In the same time I would frag your frag :) when possible to be on the safe side.

Yeah i just decided to frag the frag and re glue it. The STN part was so brittle it wouldn't have taken much to knock it over. Thanks :)
