Purchased 2 helfrichi firefish and I thought one jumped until I saw it a few days later hiding in the rocks and beat up....was wondering if two get agressive and maybe three arebetter?other fish in tank extremely docile
Yup, unless firefish pair bond, in a smaller tank, they will likely stage a winner take all, ufc, glass cage, death match.
I guess I'll be happy with one... The winner!
Are you serious? So you are just letting one of them kill the other? I'm sorry but that is awful. Would you do that with other animals? If your dogs or cats don't get along would you let them fight to the death? Return one of them to the store.

Wow. I love how ppl get so self righteous and save the whale on here. And like above, unless you have an unstocked aquarium with no other fish or corals, you likely will cause more harm trying t9 get it out..
Letting one fish kill another because one didn't do his homework before buying a fish is the reckless part here. :debi:
It's actually quite easy to catch the aggressor with a trap and a mirror.
As for the unstocked aquarium - you always should have a QT in spare. But in this case even a breeder box would have worked until the fish could have found a new home.
