I am a new reefer and a new member here on RC. Was just pointed to this forum when searching for fellow hobbyists in my area.

I live in owego (tioga county) Anyone else nearby?


I currently have a 55g Fowlr, but i will be adding softies and zoa's soon, and would love to use local frags instead of buying online

Thanks everyone! And yes, i posted the same thread there and i am sure i will be on both frequently.

Really hoping to pick up some free/cheap frags and dive into reef keeping.

Can't wait to have an established tank and be on the other side of things!

Hah, the thing about "the other side of things" is no one ever actually gets there This mythical place where you're tank is "done" eludes us all.

I just got this one up and running and i am already planning the next one! So much so that im planning a basement sump, and do not even own my own house yet :lol2:

Welcome Aboard! My advice is to focus on one tank keeping the bug that is biting you in control. It's hard enough maintaining one nice tank.

I run a number of tanks but took 10 years to get there. It's a journey not a destination. Don't forget to smell the roses along the way; not just the skimmate. Good luck.

Oh it would be a matter of converting to a larger tank, and using the 55g i have now for a sump/fuge/dsb or something. Not for a few years!
