Help connecting PVC to bulkhead

Greetings all,

I'm a bit perplexed...I have an All-Glass with a MegaFlow accessory kit. The bulkhead fittings are not NPT sized treads. I have a 1" and a 3/4" bulkhead with male threads. Does the Marine Depot have fittings that will match these and allow connection to PVC?

The internal diam of the bulk heads are made to gule 1" pvc or 3/4" pvc into the bulk head.

So the threads are only for securing the bulkhead to the glass...not to also connect to a threaded fitting.

That kinda makes sense.

Correct. They do make some bulk heads with threads on the inside to screw pvc into.

Hi mludason,

Thanks for your inquiry. As sjdyer said, the outside threads are only used to securing the bulkhead.

The inside of the bulkhead will either be smooth or threaded. If the inside is smooth ('slip'), you can glue in a PVC pipe or pipe fitting right into it. If it is a treaded fitting, then you will need a fitting with a male thread to screw in to the bulkhead.
