Can you help me ID these two they are on the same rock

Yes--aptasia---take the rock out if you can and scrub them off--not good for your tank---they overtake everything.

First one is aptasia the second does not look like aptasia. The second pic looks like it might have some sort of skeleton. Does it? If it does it is not aptasia.

The second one is some sort of anemone, but not aiptasia. When in doubt... get it out.

The second pic looks more like a Pseudocorynactis which is a corallimorph (mushroom) and quite harmless. I think they are very cool and wish they grew bigger IMO.

Agree on the the first is aptasia. The second is definately NOT aptasia. I have to dalston that it looks like pseudocorynactis. A very cool corallimorph. I had a small colony for quite some time. Just feed them and they will grow. They don't get to large so they don't take up a lot of space.

For the aiptasia, inject it with some Joe's Juice.

I'd disagree that the second is a psuedocorynactis, it looks more like a cup coral to me.
check out the genus Rhizosmilia, Colangia, Phyllangia, and Astrangia among others.

Seems like everyone is always in such a rush to pass judgment on things and nearly everything gets called aiptasia. Take a little more time folks.

Good call. I've had a few of these on carribean rock but haven't looked up the genus lately.
