Help with Flatworms

One of the tanks we are tearing down, is beyond infested with flatworms. These guys are flatworm exit resistant (4x the dosage does not bother them at all, CoralRX is like a gentle back scratch). The corals were dipped in Bayer Dip Insecticide and in a separate quarantine right now. The fish is going to be freshwater dipped to kill any flatworms that get on the net

Finally to my question, there are two sexy shrimp in that tank. It will be impossible to catch the shrimp without getting a least a few flatworms on the net. How do I make sure the two shrimp are flatworm free when I move them to their next tank?

flat worms are pretty easy to see. you could net the shrimp out, put them into a container of tank water and use a turkey baster to blast the flat worms off before you move them to the tank.

i had a terrible flat worm problem, they were everywhere. i added a yellow coris wrasse and after several weeks, i don't see any flat worms.

ive seen a hoeven's wrasse take care of the worst outbreaks in under a few days. hoevens go nuts eating flatworms like popcorn

Thanks Nina51, that is probably what I will have to do except do it two or three times... These are nasty flatworms. Some survived a bayer dip by hiding in the crevices of some corals.

Thanks for the wrasse suggestions, but the infested tank is a 16g, way too small for a wrasses. Also, I am pretty sure even juveniles would find sexy shrimp to be a delicious cuisine...

yup, i'd do several times. it certainly won't hurt the snails. i had so many flat worms, they were crawling up the glass and several rocks were absolutely covered in them.

nice to see that you realize your tank is too small for a wrasse. and yes, your sexy shrimp would be a buffet. i occasionally buy a few ghost shrimp to toss in the tank for my hawkfish. by the time they leave their perches, the 4 wrasses have have already made quick work of the shrimp.
