Hey Gary...

sad to say my luck went south my coral beauty came down with ick and wiped out my angels and tangs. It was the worst case of ick I have ever seen healthy happy eaiting great dead the next day it almost looked like there was a fungus also. When the weather warms up I am going to set up a qt system at my other house and try again. I may try yellows and sailfins or if I can get them I would like to do atlantic blues (Acanthurus coeruleus). On a positive note the tank is doing great everthing is growing well and looks great.

yup not somthing I would joke about, It realy upset me but as you know the way I purchased the fish is always high risk.

When I was scuba diving in the Bahamas, the Atlantic blue tangs with stunning to watch swimming in schools of 20 or more. The chromis where in schools of hundreds lol. Which I was alive to see all the corals that populated the reefs there before the diatomic die off

Sorry to hear Gary. They looked so good in your tank.

Dang, that is terrible news. Hope things do better when you get started back up.

A. coeruleus is one of my all time favorite fish. I've never heard of someone keeping a group though and they seem hard to get. sealifeinc has them from time to time - I asked them to try to get one for me in the group buy a few months ago and they have yet to get their hands on one.

One of the experiences that hooked me on this hobby was snorkeling in the keys as a teen. I remember watching a giant school of Atlantic blue tangs come through a section of reef like a possessed 100-headed lawnmower. :D

I did see that also, they where all swimming along and than darted over to a dead coral and devoured all the algae living on it.

WoW.. Amazing Tank.. Totally defies the rules for stocking livestock.. Though he has so many fish in there, they all look happy.. And he changes 10% water on a monthly basis and not weekly... Gotta figure out what his secret recipe is..
