For those of you seasoned vets, this is probably not a new thing...but for us it was a big deal!

Here is a pic of our anemone a few weeks ago. It looked similar this morning except not as healthy.

a little while ago it looked like this...

Holy cow! It had looked a bit dark and straggly the last week or maybe even two. I was a little worried about it. Maybe this is why it looked weird. I hope it is not the other way around, but I will see if it - they - plump up.

I've been doing some reading and now I'm freaked out the maybe it was(is) under stress and split because of that. The rest of the tank is fine.

I had one do the same thing a couple years ago. It split into two but they looked kinda bleached and then migrated all over the place. I guess they were stressed. That nem was with me for 4 years before that. Better luck with yours and let us know what happens. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah - we've had this guy a couple of years too. It's not been bleached but it has been dark and droopy. I guess I just need to be patient and see how it all turns out. It has been amazing to watch.

super cool! i was at a friends house the other day to pick him up for a softball game and he didn't even notice his LTA split until i told him he had two.

Does anyone have a sense of how long it will take them to heal up the gap in their bodies? Should I dose the tank with some sort of nutritional booster? Should I just be patient? :bounce3:

mine have split a couple times. depends on the health lighting, tank water conditions. shoud heal pretty quick. touch them and see if they are sticky yet. if so i fed mine krill or mysis to speed things up. id say within a week or two
