Holy crap

The worms aren't bothering anything so I'm going to leave them alone. They are pretty much my only CUC and they do a damn fine job.

i would take the rock out and let it soak in ro water for a few hours, many of them should come out. i agree having some isnt bad but i think that population is just to big.

I saw in an earlier post that you neglected the tank for a year... my guess is that this is the source of your nutrient problem.

Where would the extra nutrients come from. I've never had an algea problem or anything like that. I didn't really neglect the tank, I just never added anthing to it. I kept my 2 clowns and a bunch of shrooms. About the only thing I didn't keep up with was water changes, I'd say 5 gallons every 2-3 months. I'm doing 5g every other week now and slowly stocking it. I just switched out the stock pump with a maxi jet 900 and will be picking up a K1 this weekend. I'll be adding a skimmer in a few weeks.

The rock.

Leave them be, they are great scavengers, the more the better, they clean up excess food which otherwise would break down and polute your water.

Some of these responses are hilarious! I would leave them be. Try adding a meaty coral and if it mysteriously disappears overnight then I would think
about removing them, but I doubt they go after healthy, living tissue.

I've got a healthy zenia and a few zoo's, a candy cane and galexea. All are doing well. The worms totally cover all the rock and corals at night but don't eat them.
I'm leaving them and like I said, I will probably take a rock out and put it in the new tank when I get it. I think these have been the best CUC so far. My hermits ate the snails, the snails die when there is no algea, the shrimp seem to magically disappear.

I like the bristle worms. They even come out with the lights on when I feed the fish.

Get panty hose and put a shrimp in it(market shrimp) , make the panty hose into a ball around the shrimp. youll catch a whole bunch like that

I dont want to remove them.

Kudos!

I was a little creeped out by bristle worms the first few times I saw them in my tank but I've come to think they're kind of cool and like was said before they are eating something. If you thin their numbers out something is going to be left uneaten, whatever it is. I'm glad to see you're not panicking and letting the system do it's thing. :)

Kinda panicked at first but since I know they are not hurting eating anything I will leave them be.

Like I said before, they are pretty much my only CUC besides a couple snails and the top layer of my LS is bleach white. Lol

It's funny, you can look when the lights are on at all the crevices, nooks and crannies and there will be a worm there waiting for lights out.

I should dump a lot of food in there, turn the lights out and video it.
