I feel like I owe you all an apology an an explanation......As strange as it sounds - I have been dealing with heavy metals poisoning. Uranium and Mercury.
There are many areas of the US - and probablly other countries that have naturally occurring Uranium in the ground. It is a trace component of granite, and is often found in veins or pockets where granite is prevelant.
This has nothing to do with the goings-on in Japan. The timing is just co-incedental.
The bottom line - that I would like to say about it is this:
Most states do not require - or even educate you about the potential ( tho it is un-common, it is a known potential ) unless you are on a community well serving 25 or more homes.Then the water is tested before it can be used for consumption, and every month thereafter. I have a private well. The Uranium count that I had just recently had the well tested for is over 3 times the "safe upper limit" as lain out in the Interim Safe Drinking Water Standards. My baody has concentrated that to 20 times the safe amount in a human.
This is not a scare - and I am not on a soap box here. I just hope any of you reading this will insist on having your wells tested. You need not be concerned if you are on a community well.

Thank you for posting this. I live probably alittle over an hour away from you in Blairsville Ga, I am on a private well. Yes I am going to get it tested now for sure. God speed on your recovery. If you would, let us know the steps you take to deal with the water. ie filter system etc. Thanks.

I started having problems with balance, and tremors in mostly my left arm and hand. my strength went to zilch, I was having great difficaulty speaking. That part is better now - but not normal yet. My walking is impaired due to the balance problems. Really bad brain fog, and - some kidney problems that I could not explain - and would not be polite enough to put here. But you may PM me if you need more info. I have accumulated a lot of data in the las 4 plus months about this issue.

Florida Radiochemistry Services in Orlando FL was the testing lab. If you contact them, they will send you sample bottles with instructions on how to collect the water samples. The cost is $60 - which, is pretty cheap considering my last doctor trip with all of the tests was approx $3500

Thanks Rob - I will post pics soon of my new house water filtration system.
I have kind of grown fond of not having to turn on the bathroom light at 3 a.m. -due to being a human glow stick and having laser guidance does help too
Thanks also canyousee - I am having chelation treatments and infraresis to help rid me of it faster. Accompanied with dietary stuff - I hope to get all of this behind me in the near future.
It is still a "head shaker".....just who would expect this in their life?

I have been interested in the new Coralvue MH/T5/LED fixture but have had a hard time finding anyone with experience with it.
I know yours was the prototype but curious how it is working for you? Also wondering how controllable it is. Can you dim the MH and LEDs?

Sorry to here of your health issues. I just happened across your thread today and could not believe my eyes. Your sump is the reservoir for one of 2 large wet dry filters from a marine only store I used to own called the Fish Junction that was in Westerville Ohio a suburb of Columbus. That was actually the small one and it also had a 110 gallon bio ball tower that sat on the end opposite your protein skimmer. The "ribs" were for 2 mechanical filter pad frames that slid into place so while you were cleaning one the other would not let the occasional fish that washed into the sump get sucked into the pump intake. I will try and find some old pictures of it in all its glory with 13,000 gph of water running through it.
