The writing on the tag is faded and I need to figure out if the ballast is a pulse or probe start. Is there an easy way to tell?

m80 pulse i do believe

???

This is a PFO 175 watt ballast that I can't read the writing on anymore :(. If it's pulse I'll be good to go for using double ended bulbs, if it's a probe I have to use mogol. :(

I would guess probe M57. The PFO electronic ballast come in a white box unlike tehre normal gold colored ones. Mogul is better anyways:)

OK, It's a long silver box. Looking online both the pulse and the probe look the same. I can just make out a 99... on the model number from the writing on the tag.

Called PFO, they said I had to open up the case and look at the type and ANSI code on the ballasts inside. On doing that I fould out it is indeed a probe start ballast.
