how do you split anemone???

Idk the way I see it the more his nems split either by his hand or on their own the less that get taken from the reefs. Who knows how many nems don't make it through the shipping process. Sounds like a win win to me.

Ok great news, one of my nems split on its own last night!!! Ill still try manualy spliting them when i go to premium aquatics today hopfully. and ill be sure to post pics.

ok so i was trying to get the another anemone off a rock with the ice method and i think i cut the bottom of the nem with it possibly and it was also on two seperate rocks so it may have gotten streached slightly. Its now on only one rock but should i continue or wait???

Great news!!! I officialy split my first anemone today at about 12:30 and put each half in a small net breeder tank. Now both their tenticals have grown back to their regular size and are, Uhhh walking? up the netting. I now have 5 healthy anemones and I think one I tried to get off the rock yesterday is spliting becuase i think i cut it with the ice cube. I looked around RC and found that the best way to get them off rocks is to dangle the anemone over a bucket of water and wait which kinda worked; the nem was there probaly 30min but i didnt see much of a difference so I started doing it by hand which worked great.Thank you so much everybody for all the help and espeicaly to kingevil. I took pics but for some reason our wifi is being realy wierd so it hard to navigate but ill be sure once its back to normal I will post them.

This was the safest way i found to take the nem off the rock with some research around RC. It was there about 20 min and didnt look any different so i very slowly started to take it off the rock by hand while it was upside down. Our wifi is finnaly back to normal so here all the pics from the nem split.

These are the same half. These nets I think are the best things for recovery that ive seen. Its gets flow to the nem easily, you can moniter them, There is plenty of room for the nem and could probaly put 2 -4 nems in one if you wanted to, It only cost $5 and when you take it off the netting it only takes about 6 seconds.

This one and the last one are the nems only about 24 hrs after the split and were taken about an hour after they were released back into the tank

I sold my pair of black and white occilarous clowns about 4 days ago and I have one clown left and its loving life because I have 5 nems now spread across the tank and goes to about every one. The reason I sold them is because I would rather have a pair of reg. occelarous clowns( the other ones came with the tank i bought off of craigslist). So what do you guys think??? Did all right?

I had one bubble tip was feeding it once a week woke up one morning there was two. They are both about 8 inches.
