How do you wash filter socks?

I have them on all 4 of my sump returns, change them about every 4-5 days with extras that are clean and ready go. I then put the dirty socks in the washer on the hot wash cycle with a cup of bleach turned inside out. Then run one cycle with just cold water, and a third cycle with cold water and add a chlorine remover in the rinse cycle. They come out bright white and clean.

I wash them in the washing machine with bleach. In a front loader washing machine (super high rpm model), the rinse cycle gets them so dry I don't bother rinsing again with RO/DI.

In my current home, we have a big, older, upright washer, I will rinse them with RO/DI.... although, I am currently designing a setup that will not require them. I really only used them for microbubble control or if some particulate matter (sawdust) gets in the tank.

I use my water pressure washer to blast it, but before that i used to use my garden hose (i occasionally still do). One min and the thing will be very clean, though you gotta make sure you have decent water pressure.

I did that once. Might as well have used straight bleach for what it did to the sock

That is correct, you gotta be careful as to how much pressure you use else you might rip the bag.

ya...i must not have had a fine enough touch because by the time i got it clean the bag was done for

I used to use the car wash rinse cycle pressure washer. But, everytime that I washed them, I threw out hundreds of pods. I hated doing that and filed stopped using them. Now, I just deal with the numerous microbubbles.

A~
