how far should they be from the lights?

I've just put some bright green mushrooms and various recordias in my tank. How far away from the light should they be? Everything refers to the "middle of the tank". We have a 210 gal with LED/T5 Pacific Sun. Paid a lot for them and don't want to kill them off. They came from a well established tank. We've had trouble keeping anemones alive in our tank, so decided to switch to mushrooms. What about supplementing with trace elements?

Thanks.

all your trace elements come in your make up water change. the tank that they came from would be a good indication of place ment for your tank. meaning if they were shadded or directly under heavy lighting. you will know soon enough if they like there new placement.

re: my new mushrooms

Thanks, I would assume if they're too close to the light they will bleach out? I don't know much about them, so don't know what symptoms they display if they are unhappy except dying.

I agree. Qualitly salt mix and frequent water changes will provide trace elements.

What do you have to power set to on your lamps and how long is the photoperiod?

If you are worried about burning or overexposing new corals, either start the corals low in the tank and gradually move them higher up, or adjust you Pacific Sun Pandora lamp down a bit and back up slowly.

Just general advice/thoughts. Many factors such as rock arrangement, lamp height, other corals etc...

I am happy to help if you want to give some more specifics and pics.

Thanks,

Yorgos
