How is this possible!!!!!!!!

The only known under water spiders have to use a diving bell they create with their webs so they can breathe oxygen. There's no sign of a diving bell there.

It's freakin' me out just looking at the photo!

GOOD LUCK!

Man you guys are gonna make me take on the t-3 spider. Hey if I get bit I may become the new spiderman...or I'll just scream like a girl haha

Whew. Dodged a bullet. Put my net in and he climbed right in. Took him out and threw the net on the ground and proceeded to stomp the ever living crap out of it. He's dead. Crisis diverted.

It could be a fishing spider of the genus Dolomedes. They kill and eat fish but hey, they will not bother coral. They are not marine, but what does your spider know anyway?

whosurcaddie: That does kinda look like it but not quiet. not saying it isn't but I've noticed a few differences between the pics on google and the ones I have seen. next time me or my wife sees one we will catch it and take it to someone who can tell me more.

Looks like a wolf spider to me. He probably just fell in. I don't know about spiders, but I've seen plenty of insects take quite a few minutes to drown if they have a layer of air stuck to them.

So I found out through a buddy of mine that like spiders(yuck) that it was a wolf spider. They can live underwater for about 30-60 mins at a time. He has never heard of one in salt water though...
