I have a rose bubble tip that's about 12inches round. I feed it about 1 to 2 times a week. Is there any way to promote splitting or a way to tell or an age these start splitting at?
About what was the size of yours when it split? I know how hard it was to get mine to stay in one spot, I couldn't imagine trying to control 5. But the person I got mine from had about 20 all together! He told me they all seem to like being arround each other? Did you find that to be true?
Some have shown great reluctance to divide, maybe they are presented with conditions for growth vs division. Some of mine get 16"+ across before dividing and may stay that size for years.
fwiw: Anemones have simple senses, it is not unusual for them to decide a single location of similar lighting, flow, diet, substrate, etc., are the place to live You can use this to your advantage to keep them from moving very far as well ;>)
That would make sense why they would not travel far from the place they did their splitting. Its not the company of their twin, its the conditions of that spot.
