I know this may not be possible.. but I really would like to have a pair black clowns, platiums, and snowflake in the 180g.. do you think it's possible? I may have nem too. not sure it will be good or bad

Generally speaking it would not work. If you have nems on either side of the tank and the nems stay there lol, you may get away with two pairs. If you have one nem they will most likely kill each other competing for it.

Anything more than one pair is a serious risk, and even if you did have nem bookends chances are a pair might take them both(that was my exp w/ several clown pairs, and my nems were as far apart as could be in a 180g).

I have had a pair of pink skunks and a pair of ocels for a year now. At first, the o's chased the skunks. After a couple of days they went to opposite ends of my 112. Now, the o's get ran off occasionally by the skunks if they get too close to the skunks' end. I have 4 rbtas. My skunks hang in the largest rbta whilst the o's each have their own rbta on the opposite end. None have spawned, so that could amp things up if that ever happens, but both pairs generally mind their own business and hang in their own nems. I would never haved mixed pairs except a year ago I really wanted some clowns that I knew would host an rbta quickly, so I got the skunks and they went right in. 6 months ago, after having them for a year already, my o's discovered they like nems, too. Seems to me that btas or other nems may be the deciding factor. Lack of nems may produce more agression, but giving multiple clowns ample host options seems to settle 'em down.

^^ I actually think the opposite, having a nem seems to make them even more territorial, even multiples.
When they do begin spawning that is usually when it goes bad, and when it does that often happens over night.

my spawning pair of ocellaris own my 120g DT, from one end to the other. it's not even safe for me.

When I had my 180. I had 5 pair of BW and 5 pairs of Onyx. So no problem at all!

So you had 20 clowns in your tank? All in pairs? How long were they together? I would love to see some pictures of these clowns of yours existing together in 10 pairs. No pics and I won't believe you. We already have proof of multiple clowns existing together in very rare circumstances, but 10 pairs in a 180? I call B.S.
