I personally like the truck and tree airbrushed on the side of the tank...looking good.

The garage is looking good.

Thanks Speedo. ;) Now I just need to work on getting room to walk in there again.

Very nice Ed! I'll try and help you fix those scuffs first before you go to the extreme and strip/replace pieces of the wood.

Thanks for the PM on that Sara. It was much more helpful than Speedo or Fiji's posts. :D

That is way more skimmer than you can handle:)

I think you're right, want to buy it back? Only $100 more than you sold it to me for!

u got mail....

Thanks man. ;)

Update for the thread : When assembling your stand/canopy that you just picked up, make sure you're mechanically inclined enough to know how to assemble it or you may end up with side panels that are a bit snug! :eek2: No biggie, this setup is mostly just to have a place to store it until I get the living room remodeled and ready for the tank to come inside. Thanks to Matt at ShoTank for the insight as to where I goofed. :p

I'm glad you like it. That's custom, I paid extra for that. I even have one side airbrushed with a picture of me holding a Nikon SLR camera! :lmao:

Things are looking good Ed... No Profilux for the dimmable T5's ?!?!? I was almost toying with swapping over to the T5's because that would be so much fun.

Whens it going to see water ??? You going over to RKC's anytime soon ??? I havent seen his setup in quite awhile and want to see how things are growing out....

Actually, I went Aquatronica because I got a smokin' deal on it. I also really like the software and controllers, expansion parts are reasonable and it's full featured. I even got the 3 port dosing pump with it. :D As soon as GHL gets the DALI stuff out with some pricing I may re-evaluate.

Gotta get a ceiling fan in my living room, then I have a painter lined up to patch holes and paint, then the floors. I came to the realization that once this tank hit the ground it probably wasn't going anywhere for a while so I better make it count!

I actually haven't been to RKC's lately. I've been working on getting my new company spun and still holding down my old job. I was going to get over there this week sometime but now I have to go to Vancouver for 2 weeks so it looks like it will be a bit longer. :( Last time I saw it though it was looking great. He's got all 8 400 HQI setups going now, 8 new Radium 20Ks installed, and the surges are firing flawlessly. The corals are definitely jamming. Next time I go i'll have to break out my camera. I want to bring my camcorder over there and get a video of those things in action.

The PLM-DALI interface cards are shipping 4/14, and based on current euro prices, should be about $80 US....

Straight from the horses mouth (Matthias at GHL):

What is DALI?
The card PLM-DALI is able to control ballasts or other dimmable devices (e.g. transformers for halide lamps) with DALI. DALI is a digital bus interface, that means all devices are connected over just one twowire cable. The differentiation is achieved through different addresses.
Advantages over the 1-10V interface are mainly the much easier wiring and the complete shut-off at 0% (using a 1-10V-interface an external shut-off circuit is needed, e.g. EVG-AP).

Technical data
- Up to 50 devices can be connected to one PLM-DALI
- The devices can be divided into 16 groups, each group represents one ProfiLux illumination channel
- DALI-port is galvanically isolated

Price & availability
Recommended retail price (incl. tax) in Germany 59,90Euro, we start shipping at 14.04.2009

We will soon offer all our dimmable light bars with DALI as an option.

Looks like it is coming along nicely. Can't wait to see the water go in.

You and me both. :) I'm on the home stretch now, and i'm definitely having a party when there's water in it and the cycle is over.

Looks great man, congrats!

Are you still having another sump built? That sump was designed for BK 250 Delux in the first section... perfect water level ;)

I'm most likely going to modify that existing sump. I've decided to run all three pipes in the overflow box as drains and run the return up the back. (Easier for me to service and it has to go over the brace either way so the visual effect is the same)

Here's the idea I had to whip the old sump back into shape. This yields a 23 1/4 x 28 1/2 x 17 (48.8g) fuge area and plenty left over for a sump, and it'll still hold that BK250 Deluxe with no problems. :D

Yellow pieces are what has to be added. The baffle with the teeth in it is just to help illustrate which way the water flows. I doubt i'll go through the trouble of notching it out like that! :eek2:

You can just DL their software and run it in demo mode to check out alot of the features....

The summer came and went and for one reason or another, I couldn't get the tank set up. A lot changed for me personally, including starting my own company.

Summer time is almost over but the tank build is back on!

I upgraded from a Dart return pump to a Barracuda. My fellow reefing buddy ReefKeepersCorner had to break down his tank and I grabbed that from him. It was a shame to get it that way but hey, what can you do?

My house needed some work before the new tank could come in, and that's almost done now. Here's a taste of what had to happen. First came the living room/entrance way makeover. My house was screaming for some new paint and that's really hard to do when you have active reef tanks. Thanks to some help by gotfish8, we got the running 90 out of the living room and into the kitchen so work could get done. Here's a few snaps of the paintjob...

First, the entrance way needed some better looking light fixtures.

The living room definitely needed upgraded air movement

Here's the furniture arrangement while the paint was being put down. It's was a mess.

The next step was the flooring. The old carpet in the living room was way past due to be replaced! It was also time to leave carpet behind... Here's the work in progress.

The trim for the floor is going in sometime next week and then it's time for the tank to come inside. All of the equipment, sand, and rock is purchased and ready to go. The barracuda has some fresh seals on it thanks to Matt at ShoTank, and both of the OceansMotions are cleaned up and ready... now it's time for the PVC and some aquascaping.

Stay tuned!

Thanks Austin. It certainly has been a long time coming. :( It was 9/15 of last year when I picked it up from you!

I did forget to post one thing... my male Watanabe angel! I've had a female Watanabe in my old 90g for several years but never could find a male. I've seen one before but missed out on it so I snapped this one up as soon as it became available. He's now living with the female and they're getting along acceptably ... for a pair of mean angels. It took a lot of work though, I had to pull her out of the tank, store her at another reefer's house for a few weeks, get him acclimated and in the system, then restore her. Not a fun trip. But it was worth it. :) Here are some pictures of him waiting for pickup at ShoTank.

Bob Villa moderates a different forum. Can we please get back on topic with the TANK build thread...
