Hey guys,

Getting some fish in on Friday and I'm not sure how to break them up in QT.

Tanks:
40G Breeder and 20G Long

Fish:
3.5" Crosshatch Trigger Male
3" Crosshatch Trigger Female
(2) Cleaner Wrasses
Male Flame Wrasse
Female Flame Wrasse
Potter's Angel

Thanks!

Triggers, cleaner wrasse, and angel go to the 40 gallon. The flames and the other cleaner wrasse goes to the 20 gallon.

Do you think the Angel will get bothered by the Triggers?

Hard to predict but if you have plenty of PVC to have them hide in you should be fine... I was going to say cleaners and triggers and flame wrasse with the potters but I think either way will work

Yeah went a little overboard on the PVC ;)

That's good I don't think there is ever too much in a QT system personally, unless you have a really active fish ie. Achilles tang

Ok so I'm leaning to this...

40:
Crosshatch Pair
Potter's
Cleaner A

20:
Flame Pair
Cleaner B

QT question aside, do you plan to eventually put both cleaners in the same system? One is highly likely to kill the other, in that case. Many have tried to "pair" them, yet I know of no real success stories.

They won't live together in a 10 foot tank?

Do they kill each other with their tiny mouths ;)

Unless you have a female/male pair, one will kill the other, even in a huge tank. They are fiercely territorial, as is to be expected based on their behavior. A cleaning station that attracts fish with no competition from another station is very important in the wild.

I have a 8ft tank and my cleaner constantly attacks a Sankeyi Pseudo due to the similar appearance. The poor pseudo never ever is able to leave the rocks.

Gotcha, maybe I'll hold off on the cleaners then.

Already have one in the tank, it's been there for about 4 months.

Do all the cleaners not get along with each other?

Common, Tri-Color, Hawaiian, etc... or mainly just the same species?

I have an African Common, I know the others have terrible mortality rates...
