i have been trying to keep the blues in the tips of the sps , how to bring up the brightness ?

lighting =2xmaxspect g2-160W
Tank: 4x2x2
zeolite =1.2l in the reactor and the some smaller one in the filter bag

my dkh = 7.0
mg=1200
ca=400
po4=0.003 (hanna checker)
no3=0
ph= 8.1 (night ) 8.3 (day)

please advice

Sat- , pcs with Zeobak pure,sponge power 2 drops
Sunday - zz 1/2 teaspoon soak overnight with bak , iron 2 drops , job 3 drops

Tuesday, thursday and sat - 4 drop of bio mate, CV =4 drops

I believe that potassium iodide fluoride (a zeo product) is supposed to pimp out the blues in sps. Maybe give that a shot. Here's what the product is supposed to do:

-Addition leads to improved blue colors in sps

research some potassium dose products. I believe I've heard that potassium can help bring out the blue in hard corals.

Mg looks a litttttle low too. The potassium should help as stated, just gotta be careful if you're not testing for it.

I'd try to keep Mg in the 1300-1400ppm range. Its preferable to have it higher for sps. I personally shoot for 3.5 x Ca. I had the same issue and bringing the levels up has helped.

I agree the above. All zeolite systems require regular potassium additions because it's one of the ions the stones adsorb. I noticed a definite improvement in the blues in my SPS corals after starting K additions.

not sure about additives as I don't use any other then the majors

I'd start with Mg up to 1400
Ca up to 450
DKh around 8+

but even that and additives may not get you there as I found to get the blues (baby blues and teals) you need intense light for about 4-5 hrs a day. I'm just not sure what you have is enough but I don't know anything about that light.

the dkh for zeovit is around 7.0

Blues.

Blues.

I do not believe any zeolites or potassium will help you keep blue corals. I have intense blue corals and I do not use either. I do believe that keeping perfect water conditions will help, and I do think lighting is critical. Most corals having blue in them need intense light and can be enhanced with light that tends towards the blue spectrum. So . . . if you want blue corals I suggest keeping your water parameters as close to an Indonesian reef as possible and investing in high intensity blue spectrum lights using either Radium MH bulbs, T5 actinics, or blue LEDs as a primary light source.

But then that is only one man's opinion so I hope you will take everyone's advice and come up with the best answer for you! :)

I agree with these statements but it is possible that the OP's system is deficient in a particular element that yours isn't. Your tank is beautiful, by the way. Kudos to you.

Be careful when dosing potassium. Get a test kit and check your potassium level before dosing. I started dosing it cause I was having blue issues also. I was under dosing but I still doubled the NSW level! Not good. What finally did it for me with all colors was stability, alk at 8 ca 420-460, mag at 1350-1400 SG kept right at 1.025 with ATO. Kalk in ATO water to keep ca and alk stable. I went back to KISS and super stable.
